"I resonate with heavy guitar riffs, chaos, and Johnny Cash.  I find inspiration in the unconventional and develop the ideas born from darkness into design."

My journey into graphic design began before I knew what graphic design was.  My love of heavy music and live shows thrust me into a world where dark imagery played a huge impact in my formative years and had a lasting influence on my design process.  From CD covers and lyric books, to the tour posters and t-shirt designs; I was in love with the graphics side of the underground hardcore scene of the early 2000's and it left a huge impression on me.

When I learned more about the possibilities of graphic design at OCC I became enamored with the idea of being able to be involved in a packaging design project one week and a poster design project the next.  The DIY attitude of the underground music scene had made me want to try every road graphic design had to offer and create things that were dark, gritty, and rooted in the unconventional.

As I began to develop my skills as a designer at Cal State Long Beach, I was always creating from destruction and taking inspiration from chaos.  I continue to develop as a designer and embrace the concepts and ideas born from darkness and turn them into designs.
